Jason is the backbone of Australia's World Champion Touch teams and is regarded as the most influential player of the game over the last decade. He engineered Australia's World Cup wins in 2003 & 2007 and recently was instrumental in the Australia's win over New Zealand in the 2009 series.
After playing lower grades for the Roosters and Tigers in League, Jason represented Lebanon in the 2000 Rugby League World Cup then again in the undefeated winning 2006 Sevens Team.
The co-founder of Elite Coaching clinics (with Tony Eltakchi), Stanton has recently focussed his unique and innovative approach to rugby coaching in assisting the World IRB Rugby Sevens winners, the South African Spingboks. In 2009 he was an assistant backs coach for the Queensland Reds Super14 team where he worked one on one with many Wallaby stars.
Success seems to follow Stanton, and the 2009 World Cup Womens Rugby Sevens was no exception. Stanton coached Australia to come from behind to beat England and South Africa in the finals and to win the World Cup final in extra time against New Zealand. Stanton amazingly transformed a team with little to no sevens experience and 5 Touch girls into the first World Cup Womens Sevens Champions!
